Early versions of the roulette wheel were much the same as we see today. Some minor differences included the addition of an American Eagle in the Americanized versions. Also in early French variations of the wheel, the zeros were the same color as the rest of the numbers. Today’s modern Roulette wheels use a green color to distinguish the zeros from the rest of the numbers.

There are 38 total slots on a modern Roulette wheel. Numbers 1-36, as well as a single and double zero. The European version only has a single zero making the player odds of winning slightly better. The numbers are all colored black or red in alternating fashion. Therefore 18 of the 36 numbers will be red and the other half will be black.

Playing the Game

Object of the game: The goal of the game is to place a bet on a  number or any combination of numbers the ball will land on. A dealer will spin the roulette wheel with ball likewise spinning around the roulette carousel, the ball will eventually  drop into  a slot marked by a number determines which number wins. If you  have placed a bet on this number, color or other variation, you win.

The numbers are laid out in 3 rows so placing a bet on a row of 12 numbers is a possible option.The most common and best bets are the red/black and odd/even bets. House Edge: The overall edge the house has in Roulette is much smaller than most other games. An American roulette game which is most commonly found will have a 1.5% house edge.
